2022 Brother Martin Golf Tournament

The 2022 Brother Martin Golf Classic featured two tournaments at Bayou Oaks South Course at City Park on Friday, May 13th. The Morning Tournament teed off at 8 a.m. as 140 golfers enjoyed the sunshine, food, and beverages. Lakeview Harbor, Caffe Latte Da!, and Mr. Ed’s provided delicious food selections. Lunch, featuring burgers and chicken compliments of the Class of 1974 Cooking Team and Blue Runner Beans, was served as awards and raffle prizes were announced for the Morning Tournament. The Afternoon Tournament players joined the celebration as they ate before their round. Players enjoyed Bear’s Po-boys as well as grilled oysters that were provided by Mat Lepitic ’95 and MATO’s and were served by “Sarge’ and Pigeon Caterers. The Ladies of the Shield, Tito’s, and Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. ensured that everyone had sufficient food and drinks on the course. Unfortunately, rain halted the afternoon round early. Some true “men who never say die” completed their round despite the weather. A clear Afternoon Tournament winner could not be determined, but 50/50 winners were announced, and a number of raffle items were distributed. Rob LaFleur ’92, Lee LaFluer ’94, David Klein ’90 and the Swine Spectator Cooking Team treated guests to their award-winning chicken and sausage jambalaya and an amazing smoked pork crispy beignet with Tabasco blueberry drizzle. The Culinary Crusaders assisted and served their own delicious pasta dish and dessert.
