Prayers for a Miracle

During morning prayer today, we prayed for the people of Haiti and the Brothers of the Sacred Heart who are stationed there. We ask for your help as we continue to lift up our hearts in prayer for them. Please join us starting Monday, September 11 in praying the rosary in the James B. Branton Chapel during 4th, 5th, and 6th periods (please see the Brother Martin Calendar for schedule changes). Our students, faculty, and ALL members of the Brother Martin family are welcome.

Here is our morning prayer from Friday, September 8, 2023:

Many of you are aware that Brother Martin is one of a number of schools within the Brothers of the Sacred Heart’s Province of the United States, with other locals schools, Catholic High of BR, E.D. White in Thibodaux, Vandebilt Catholic in Houma, and St. Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis.  Some of you are probably aware that the Brothers also have schools in the northeast, Mt. St. Charles in Rhode Island, Bishop Guertin in New Hampshire, St. Joseph’s in New Jersey, and Msgn. McClancy in New York, along with St. Columbus College in the U.K. near London.  Many may not be aware that there are also schools and institutions that the Brothers operate world-wide, and one such in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Brother Nelson, the Superior Provincial in Haiti, recently wrote to Br. Mark Hilton, the Superior General of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, that our institutions in Haiti are in a desperate situation. The Brothers, the students, and the partners in mission at these institutions are in grave danger.

Simply put, our Brothers in Haiti need a miracle, and we will come together as a school community to pray for that miracle.  Please join me, as we pray through the intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mary, in reciting a decade of the rosary.  As we pray, pray with fervor, with compassion, with remorse, and with hope.  Pray with trust that God’s providence will overcome all, that good will thrive over evil, and pray for the sanctity of all life.

Please take a knee.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit…
