Fishing Club Helps with City Park Conservation

Fishing Club Service ProjectOver the Mardi Gras break, members of the Crusader Fishing Club assisted in a service project in City Park. The project took place on Thursday, February 15th and was a joint effort between the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the staff of City Park New Orleans. The Fishing Club members were given the task to place recycled Christmas trees into the lagoons of New Orleans City Park. The recycled trees act as a habitat for the many fish species that inhabit the City Park lagoons. Students assisted in preparing 80+ Christmas trees and hauling them to different locations around the park.

Special thanks to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and City Park for working in conjunction with our Crusader Fishing Club members to make a difference in our own community through natural conservation!
