Crusader Cheerleaders 3rd in the Nation!

By invitation only the Crusader Cheerleaders traveled to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Arena in Orlando this past weekend to compete in Universal Cheerleading Association’s National Championships. In December, the team clinched the State Title for their division. We could tell you that the two minute 30 second routine started with 5 toss cupies, incorporated a series of tumbling passes (layouts, fulls, and 2 specialty passes), 4 elite stunts (toss lib, peg leg up to stretch full-downs), had a pyramid, 5 intermediate stunts (forward roll into cannonball, absorb libs full around pop-off), 2 kick-double baskets and finished with a full-up lib tick-tock pyramid…but none of that would mean anything had they not scored well in the preliminaries and then competed in the final round. Compete they did! With a flawless routine, the Crusader cheerleaders brought home the Bronze – placing 3rd in the Nation in the Large Varsity Co-Ed Division. Their competition routine will be broadcast on ESPN at a later date. If you truly want to know what all those terms above mean, be sure to stay tuned and watch their performance to see it for yourself. We will give you the date and time of the ESPN broadcast as soon as they are available. Congratulations to the young men and women who have dedicated themselves to our Cheerleading program and have put forth such a sensational effort in representing Brother Martin High School so well.
