On Saturday, December 5th, the Brother Martin Cheerleaders competed in the UCA Dixie Regional Championship competition at the Jackson Convention Complex in Jackson, Mississippi. This was the first competition of the season for this team and for many of the athletes, this was the first time to step foot on a competition mat.
As this competition was a qualifier for the National Competition at Disney in February of 2016, the team wanted to do well and earn a bid. Well, that is exactly what they did! The team performed well and left their nerves on the mat! Not only did the Crusaders earn a spot at Disney, but they took 1st place in the Large Varsity Co-Ed division. Congratulations to the team!
You can catch the full competition routine on Tuesday, February 2nd, when the team performs in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium immediately after the Basketball game vs. Archbishop Shaw. Be there to see the performance “LIVE” and show your support!
