Crusader Basketball Defeats Holy Cross and Advances to State Semifinals

T.J. Small ’20 scored 20 points to bring Brother Martin to a 60-57 victory over Holy Cross in overtime on Friday night.  The Crusaders, winners of five straight games, advance to the state semifinals in Lake Charles. Small was the front runner for Brother Martin’s offense with 20 points, including five during the third period. He also contributed nine rebounds.

Two other players also racked up double-digit scores for Brother Martin. Victor Tomlinson ’19 racked up 12 points and Dillon Delatte ’19 put up 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Also contributing for Brother Martin was Javier Perez ’19 (9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals), Grant DeLord ’21 (6 points, 2 rebounds), and Peter Schneller ’19 (3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks).

Brother Martin finished the game with 36 rebounds (10 offensive / 26 defensive), four blocks and five steals.

The team will face the St. Augustine Purple Knights on Thursday, March 7th at 11:30 AM at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, LA for the State Semifinals.
