Crusaders Recognized as Scholars at NOHHF Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, five Crusaders were recognized as recipients of the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation (NOHHF) Scholars Ceremony held at Isidore Newman School. The New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation is a non-profit community organization whose main purpose is to provide an organized and directed effort in cultivating and promoting the Hispanic heritage of New Orleans and the Southern region. Each year the Foundation awards scholarships to talented Hispanic students at local schools participating in the NOHHF High School Scholarship Program. Over the past 24 years, the Foundation has awarded over 700 scholarships to Hispanic students so they may attend the schools of their choice. Jorge Henriquez, Brother Martin Class of 1983, is the Board member and Ambassador for Brother Martin High School and presented the scholarship certificates to Brier Hots ’17, Cole McLaughlin ’17 (not pictured in group photo), Fernando Díaz ’18, Allan Mérida ’18 (not pictured in group photo), and Emanuel Ochoa ’20. Assistant Principal for Admissions Carlos Bogran III ’99 was also in attendance at the event.
