Crusaders Wrestle into a New Season

The Crusader Wrestling team opened its dual meet season by defeating Houston Westside 71-9 and Katy 54-19 this past weekend in Texas.

Then, the Crusaders wrestled  the Cinco Ranch Big 12 Invitational scoring 305 points to win the tournament. Daniel Varnado, Luke Cotton, Steven Shields, Stephen Rumney, Pierce Williams and Travis Viener all finished as invitational champions. Paul Elmer and Brad Guidry finished as invitational finalists.  Additional place finishers consisted of Patrick Evans – 3rd, Ben Wisniewski – 4th, Alex Morrison – 3rd, Cole Alfonso – 5th, Garrett Legendre – 4th and Mohammad Mohammad – 3rd.  Congratulations to Luke Cotton who was named the most outstanding wrestler!

The team will wrestle against St. Amant and East Ascension on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the Conlin Gym.
