Cadets enrolled in the Brother Martin NJROTC program (Crusader Company) have the opportunity to join extracurricular activities.  We have something for everyone.

Teams:

Color Guard Drill Teams Rifle Team Color Guard

The Color Guard is a four to five person team that trains to present the national Colors for ceremonies and events during the playing of the National Anthem.  They also compete against other ROTC units in precision drill. This team is the ultimate example of dedication and honor within the organization.  (An extracurricular letter may be earned.)

Color Guard requests:  Our NJROTC Color Guard presents the Colors for the National Anthem at more than 30 events per year.  If you are an organization that would like to request our performances to start your event or ceremony, you can fill out the Color Guard Request link or email us at [email protected] to find out what we can provide.  Please understand that our Color Guard is in high demand.  Organizations have booked up to 18 months in advance.

Drill Teams

The Drill Teams train in standard and exhibition military drill.  They represent the utmost in teamwork, precision, and coordination.  Teams compete at area meets in either unarmed or armed with demilitarized and inoperable M-1 Garand Rifles.  They march in civic and patriotic activities, Mardi Gras parades, and other exhibitions. (An extracurricular letter may be earned.)

Rifle Team

The Rifle Team trains and competes in the Civilian Marksmanship 3-position air rifle program, an Olympic style event. (An extracurricular letter may be earned.)

Orienteering Team Academic and Athletic Teams Orienteering Team

The Orienteering Team is a sport that is described as “land navigation at the pace of a 5k race.”  Cadets race through varying terrain with a compass and a map to find checkpoints while competing against other participants.  (An extracurricular letter may be earned.)

Academic and Athletic Teams

The Academic Team and the Athletic Team compete in local and national competitions against other NJROTC units. (An extracurricular letter may be earned.)
