Landin Sanborn ’22 Earns a Perfect Score on ACT
Brother Martin Junior Landin M. Sanborn ’22 scored a perfect 36 on the ACT standardized test. Landin first took the ACT as a Duke TIP scholar in seventh grade and again this March. Landin is the son of Ms. Treasure Schwab and Mr. Jacques Sanborn. Landin attended N.P. Trist Middle School and entered Brother Martin as an academic scholarship recipient his eighth grade year.
Landin explained that it is through the support and motivation of his family, friends, and teachers, that he strives to do his best in school.” My mom and family have always pushed me to do my best and have supported me throughout my life. My group of friends, we motivate each other and push each other to be successful,” said Sanborn.
Landin is a team captain of Brother Martin’s Academic Games, and he is a member of Quiz Bowl, Mu Alpha Theta, Excalibur National Honor Society for Excellence in Science, National Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, and the Literary Magazine. Outside of Brother Martin, Landin has spent time volunteering with his Church community at Ozanam Inn.
Landin is still undecided on where he will further his education but is certain that he would like to pursue a degree in the field of Mathematics. He has a strong aptitude for math and enjoys the problem solving that it entails.
Mr. Patrick McClain, Landin’s Advanced Math Honors teacher and Mu Alpha Theta Moderator, said, “Landin has always been a curious and driven student, who strives to reach his academic potential beyond only making good grades. He often shares creative ways to approach a problem, and he is always eager to learn more. I believe Landin is an excellent example of a Brother Martin student achieving his academic excellence.”
Congratulations Landin on this outstanding achievement! We are so proud of you and your remarkable example of Brother Martin’s Academic Excellence.
