Beautiful weather, the Crusader Spirit and a last second comeback victory were a winning combination for Homecoming 2014. Pre-game festivities kicked off with jambalaya from Pete Algero ’80, pizza, compliments of Sal Brocato ’88 and student ambassadors, under the direction of Debbie Broussard, serving to the masses. The Crusader Cheerleaders, the NJROTC Rifle Team and the Crusader Band performed followed by the introduction of the court. Inside the stadium, the 1964 St. Aloysius District Championship and the 1989 State Finalists football teams were introduced along with the 1999 State Championship cross-country team. Mike Maginnis ’65 SA and Ron Hebert ’65 SA served as honorary captains. The Crusader football team scored the winning touchdown with :18 seconds left to defeat Shaw 36-29 and send the Crusader Nation into a frenzy. After the game, alumni and friends gathered at Lakeview Harbor to celebrate.
