'Saders Get Pepped Up for Winter Sports!
Friday morning, the Student Council held a pep rally to support and recognize the 3 Crusader winter sports programs. Coach Smotherman introduced the #2 state ranked and #10 nationally ranked Crusader soccer team. Senior Jordan Lumpkins got the Crusader student body on their feet with his enthusiastic introduction of the ‘Sader basketball team. Lastly, Coach Dauterive introduced the defending state champion and 2 time district champion Crusader wrestling team.
The student body also had a dizzy bat competition between the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades and a dance competition between the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. The Super ‘Sader took down the Blue Jay in a one-on-one basketball game with help from senior point guard Jabbar Singleton. To close out the pep rally, the Crusader students were treated to a performance from the cheerleader’s nationals routine and the musical sensation from the best band in the state, the Crusader Marching Band.
Come watch the Crusader soccer team take on Northshore this afternoon at 3:30 on Farley Field and stay to watch the Crusader basketball teams play Jesuit tonight in the Conlin Gym starting at 5:45. Go Crusaders!
