Soccer Takes it to the Next Level in Playoffs
The Crusader soccer team held on for a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Bonnabel Bruins at Pan American Stadium on Thursday night. Senior Blake Robbins led the attack for the Crusaders and scored goals in the 16th and 50th minute. His first goal came after he sliced through the Bruins defense and received a spectacular pass from Duane Wehle. Robbins second goal of the night came after he stole the ball from a Bruin defender and raced to the goal to beat the goalie near post. Bonnabel scored in the 80th minute, but the Crusaders were able to withstand the final five intense minutes and hang on for the victory.
The Crusaders will face the Catholic High Bears at Catholic High in the quarterfinal round on Monday, February 13 for 6 p.m. The entrance for the soccer field is down the left field line of from their baseball field.
