Track & Field Claims Runner-Up in District Championship

Congratulations to the members of the Track & Field Team who competed in last night’s District Championship Meet. The Crusaders finished 2nd in the team competition with an impressive collective team effort. Leading the team with individual 1st place finishes were Senior Jason Stant in the 300-meter hurdles and Junior Hunter Appleton in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Other finishers of note were Senior Hayden Courrege’, with a 2nd place, finish in the 3200-meter run which helped secure the team runner-up spot.

In the field, the team was led by Senior Matthew Christy with 2nd place finishes in both the Shot Put and Discus. Freshmen Bryce Davey and Kaleb Kenney placed 2nd and 4th respectively in the Pole Vault. Qualifying for the Regional Meet and contributing to valuable team points were Junior Jackson Anuszkiewicz in the 1600 meter run; Senior Jason Stant in the 110 meter hurdles; and both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter relays consisting of Seniors Damon Smith, Jason Stant, and Neko Rojas; and Juniors Gerald-Justin Fontain, Connor Damare’ and LJ Gilyot.

The Crusaders will be back in action on Thursday at the Regional Meet in Hahnville. Good luck Crusaders!
