Student Council's Trip to the LASC Annual Convention
This past weekend, the Crusader Student Council traveled to Sulphur, Louisiana for the Louisiana Association of Student Council’s annual Convention. Crusaders in attendance include Brad Giacone, Harrison Trepagnier, David Trepagnier, and Michael Maldonado. Brother Martin, represented by Brad Giacone, served LASC as State President during the 2012 year. As State President, Brad led 1,200 students and advisors in a cruises-ship-themed weekend. Special guests at the Convention were American Idol semifinalist Josh Ledet and mentalist Russ Peak.
The Crusaders returned from this Convention with many laudable successes. Brother Martin earned the Mega-Bucks Club award for its $500 donation to the state charities, the Ronald McDonald Houses in New Orleans and Monroe. Brad Giacone received the Dale D. Hawley Leadership Award. The late Dale Hawley was the Executive Director for the National Association of Student Councils who dedicated his life towards revolutionizing the national association. This award is now given to students for their active involvement and work towards improving their states. Brad also won the position of District I, the Greater New Orleans District, President.
Great job, Crusader Student Council!
